Warkworth Dam

The NRT are delighted to be able to report the re-opening of the North Pass at Warkworth Dam on the 8th September 2012!  Lee Henzell completed works earlier in the week to move the rock croy at the downstream end and many tonnes of silt that had collected in the pass.

West End Anglers and the Northumbrian Anglers Federation have delivered excellent volunteer work to get the radial gate working again, clear debris and branches, and build blockwork walls.

Northumbrian Water Limited, the Environment Agency and Northumberland Estates have all been very supportive, and we are greatful for their assistance in the works.

We hope that this new pass will reduce the number of fish getting attracted to the dam apron, resulting in damage and disease.alt
