    CATCHMENT PARTNERSHIP

caring for our local  water environment

The Northumberland Rivers Catchment Partnership is being established to bring together organisations and individuals to improve and protect the rivers and wetlands in much of Northumberland. At it's core is the Catchment Based Approach (CaBA)and at the moment one of the main drivers for the partnership is to support achievement of the aims of the Water Framework Directive.

Our Aim

We aim to develop a catchment-based approach to maintaining and improving the environmental quality of inland and coastal waters. We will work together with relevant organisations and try to complement and not duplicate existing partnerships and initiatives.

We will focus on :

  • Acting as a hub drawing together the actions of partners
  • Being a catalyst for facilitating joint working between partners
  • Identifying gaps in tackling issues and initiating projects to resolve these

Who are we ?

The NRCP is guided by a core steering group involving :

  •  Environment Agency
  •  Natural England
  •  Northumbrian Water
  •  Northumberland Wildlife Trust
  •  National Farmers Union
  •  Northumberland County Council
  •  Northumberland AONB
  •  Northumberland Rivers Trust

It is hosted by the Northumberland Rivers Trust
